It was our honour and privilege to host the Northumberland County Championship this year. There was a field of 82 of the best golfers in the county battling it out on Saturday 12th July, with only the top 16 qualifying for the knockout stages. 14 of Arcot’s very best were taking part with 3 players making the top 16, Michael Stenhouse, Paul Caldicott and Steven Ashley. Taking place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is the match play knockout stages before the final taking place on Saturday 19th July. Good luck to everyone in the knockout stages, and the very best of luck to our 3 Arcot members.

More Arcot representation and success! The Race to Woodhall Spa is a competition that every member is already a part of without knowing. The most improved handicap from each section over the year is asked to represent the club within the region with the leading players then playing the national finals at Woodhall Spa. Playing at an absolutely glorious Foxton today were Richard Baxter and Ang Friel. A very respectable 33 points from Richard on his first time playing there earned a 10th place finish. Ang however has trumped him with her 39 points and finishing in 5th place (despite an outrageous 57 points winning!) this has earned her a spot at the national finals at Woodhall Spa!! Congratulations Ang and best of luck for the final. Finishing in the top 5 would earn her a trip to Portugal.
