As a long-established, traditional golf club, Arcot Hall expects that members, guests and visitors will observe generally accepted standards of dress and behaviour on and off the course.
Golf shoes must be worn on the course. Neither trainers nor denim jeans may be worn. Tailored trousers and a shirt with both collar and sleeves, tucked in to the trousers are required (ladies may wear sleeveless shirt with collar and have the shirt out if it is designed to be worn in that way). Shorts and skirts are permitted as long as they are tailored and not of an immodest length. With shorts, either knee-length socks or proper golf socks must be worn. Football, athletics or beach shorts are not permitted, nor are tracksuit tops or bottoms, shell suits or similar.
In the clubhouse, you may wear anything that is permitted on the course, except garments designed as outerwear, for example golf waterproofs, fleeces, overcoats and the like.
Members, guests and visitors are expected to replace divots, smooth any marks made in bunkers and repair pitch marks on the greens. They are also expected to avoid slow play, calling through any match following when unable to hold position on the course. If any match has lost one clear hole on the match in front, the following match must be waved through. All players are expected to avoid unnecessary damage to the course, for example through careless practice swings.
