The general committee are pleased to announce the appointment of Carl Nicholls as head professional of Arcot Hall Golf Club.
His duties started on Tuesday 24th June, 2008
Carl is a PGA Qualified Coach with an HND in Golf & Leisure Management. As part of his management qualification he spent 6 months in Atlanta, Georgia, USA he assisted in the maintenance of three championship golf courses, one of which hosted the USPGA Sarazen Open. For the last three years he has worked as a Technical Representative for Callaway Golf, specialising in custom fitting, golf exhibitions and tour truck events. Along side his role with Callaway Golf, he also held the position as Head Assistant Professional at Tynemouth Golf Club. Prior to this, Carl was Assistant Professional at Phipps Golf Ltd. The knowledge gained from the various roles has given him a wealth of experience, which has helped to develop him into an experienced coach.Over the years he has worked with juniors, intermediate and advanced players, including a few tour professionals. Through the use of GASP video technology, he is able to analyse the golf swing in detail, comparing it to the world’s greatest players.
Carl maintains a passion for playing and has competed in many PGA events throughout the country. He still continues to play on the North East circuit. He also has full training in competition management, retail sales, junior organisation, and club repairs.
