A two hundred year old, grade II listed clubhouse, allied to a course laid out by world famous golf course architect, James Braid, gives us a hidden gem tucked away on the outskirts of Newcastle. This is a calm and peaceful environment where you can enjoy a relaxing round, or stay for a dormy break of dinner, bed & breakfast and two rounds of golf (see Dormy House in the visitors section).
Arcot provides an excellent test for all levels of ability and also a very pleasant experience. Wildlife abounds with deer and red squirrel among the ancient oak, beech and chestnut trees as well as the silver birch. Rhododendron and gorse, blackthorn and mayflower add spectacular colour as well as cover for a wide variety of bird life, with rare grasses and wild orchids adding to the diversity of an already splendid landscape.
The club is convenient for Newcastle International Airport and, being just where the A1 and A19 meet, it is easy to find for those coming by road. We are also very easily accessible from the North Shields car ferry terminal with its services from Scandinavia and The Netherlands.
Whether you are looking for a quiet game of golf or a first class venue for your society or corporate event, you will find yourself spoilt for choice at Arcot Hall.
Arcot Hall is a traditional members club, run by the members for the members, with traditional standards of dress and etiquette required. Please see the Dress and Etiquette section for details.
