This week on the course
Monday 26th November
Now finished the 15th tee we moved on to start work on the 2nd tee by striping the turf from the ladies area of the tee box and turning the surface over with our small cultivator. The edging work was completed on the 9th path. With winter upon us the need for to open up and maintain holes in the greens to allow air into the sub surface is greater than any other time of year so we steeped up the aeration process by Verti-draining the greens. We use 1/2 inch tines on the machine and spike down to a depth of 10 inches. The diagram below shows the benefits of this process.
Tuesday 27th November
After a frosty start to the day The tee markers were moved positions and once the frost lifted the Verti-draining of the greens was continued, as was the work on the 2nd tee box. Work on edging the paths continued as we moved on to the 10th path. Verti-draining work on the fairways began, as we don’t have a machine large enough to go on the fairways we have to employ contractors to do this work for the club.
Wednesday 28th November
